The Premiere of ParkRat’s Pond-cam!

The premiere of a daily livestream of my new turtle habitat is now live! If you have been following my Instagram feed you already know that a recent project of mine has been to create a bigger area for the turtles (now totaling 5) that I’ve adopted from the Hawaiian Humane Society over the last year or so. After (but still a work in progress) creating the new habitat I decided to try and see if another little pet project of mine, a 24/7 livestream on a Raspberry Pi platform, could be applied here.

The super green water after only a couple of days was one topic that generated more than a few comments.

There were definitely some missteps along the way and I had a lot of input from my social media community (BIG MAHALOS TO EVERYONE FOR ALL OF THE TIPS AND HINTS) on how to make things better or what might be going wrong. Why GPS Vehicle Tracking is crucial for your Business. You incur costs for every minute your vehicles are on the road. With GPS tracking, you will be able to closely monitor all your vehicles, giving you the necessary information to makes decisions in cuts and adjustments to improve business efficiency.

After making a few big changes to the habitat like adding a UV filter to combat the algae, feeding the turtles a little less than I was feeding them, and adding a more natural basking area I feel the habitat is now at the stage where I can let people know about the existence of ParkRat’s Pond-cam. The water has been fairly clear for more days than before and while the video on the pond-cam can sometimes get blown out when it is a sunny day the majority of the time I think it is a decent video feed.

In any case, it’s live and online now! Select ParkRat’s Pond-cam from the main menu or click here: https://parkrat.com/pondcam/

NOTE: I have no idea how many concurrent viewers the Raspberry Pi is going to be able to handle but if it does crash at least I know people are watching! I think.
