My Favorite ParkRat Photos – January 2015
Recently I have been taking a lot of photos primarily for our client’s social media use, but I have also posted some on my own personal accounts as well. I decided that I would try and see if I could get into blogging the “easy way” by highlighting some of the photos that I shoot in a month that are my favorites and posting them here on my blog.
I would like to state for the record that I no way consider myself a professional photographer or even a photographer. Almost 99% of the photos that I take are taken on “auto” mode on my camera or phone. So if by chance any of them look “good” it ALL TECHNOLOGY and I have no false sense of me being any better than a button pusher. That being said here are my January 2015 Favorite Fotos.
January 10, 2015 Ducks at Kapiolani Park
Not sure why I like this photo but I do. Now I want to get some ducks for my house. If I could be sure they wouldn’t fly away.
January 23, 2015 – Kaimana Beach
The rain stopped just long enough for me to get out and take some of these shots. The person sitting out on the wall was also taking photos. The waves were pretty big that day, but I think because of the wind it wasn’t very good conditions for surfing.

January 23, 2015 – Diamond Head Lookout
There was a story about how the wild chicken population is getting out of hand on Oahu because the city stopped paying to have a private company take care of the reports of wild chickens. Right after the story ran I was running into wild chickens left and right. Didn’t notice them before but it is amazing what happens when a seed is planted. Just like buying a new car that you thought was unique until AFTER you purchase yours and then you see it all over the place.
January 24, 2015 – Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort
Sunset from the beach right outside the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort. Always a great place to get some interesting shots.

There are many boats that go out to catch the sunset. Must be amazing out there. Although I would probably get seasick so maybe not for me.

January 26, 2015 – Sunset from Kapaolono Park
I thought I could get some good shots of the sunset from KCC but it wasn’t quite right so I rushed down to Kapaolono Park and was able to get a few from there. Not ideal because there are a lot of utility lines/poles to deal with but I think it may have actually added some to the photos too.
January 31, 2015 – Sunrise from Kahala Beach Park
This guy showed up right as I was getting ready to leave. Couldn’t resist getting some shots of him and his whole fishing setup.

I dunno why, but I kinda like this photo for some reason. Maybe because of how long the wall looks in it. Maybe if I can go back one morning when the sun has moved closer to the wall I can get more of the sun into the photo too.
All in all it was kind of fun for me to look back through these photos and just select my faves. If for some reason you are interested in seeing all of the photos that I’ve been shooting (and I do mean ALL because I don’t go through a lot of them before I upload it) here is a link to my Flickr account, https://www.flickr.com/photos/parkrat.
